Happened To Giant Ekranoplans

In the 1960s, the leader of the Soviet Union, Nikita Khrushchev bragged that his nation had ships that could jump right over bridges. His cryptic words confused Western leaders, but he was alluding to a secret project deep within the Soviet Union. The Soviets were developing a new class of vehicle that could move as fast as an aircraft, but lift far more payload than a conventional airplane. These machines would fly meters from the surface using an aerodynamic principle called the ground effect. They were called Ekranoplan (roughly translating to mean for "screen plane" or "low flying plane"). Beginning with experiments in the early 1960s, and headed by a pioneering hydrofoil engineer Rostislav Alexeyev , the Soviets quickly developed a series of small-scale prototypes to refine the concept. In 1966 they completed the KM (Korabl Maket) Russian for "ship-prototype". An enormous machine, larger and heavier than any aircraft in the world. The first large sca...

Up until then, smartphones had a big problem: they had small screens with interfaces that were hard to navigate, and the reason for that was because half of the phone was occupied by a keyboard with tiny buttons ...

Wife PC Upgrade NIGHTMARE

My wife's computer won't wake from sleep properly. I've narrowed the issue down to ASUS' implementation of Thunderbolt 3 on their motherboards...but actually addressing the issue turned out to be a lot of work!  - If we’re going to break it, we might as well at least get it on camera. Kate, not okay. I like Asus. They’re a valued partner. The quality of the products is generally pretty good, and for the most part, they try and do the right thing for consumers. But the quality of their implementation of Thunderbolt on their motherboards has been so bad for so long that I just can’t put off doing this video any longer, because my wife won’t let me, because every time and this is across multiple docks, multiple cables and now multiple motherboards, every time she tries to wake her display from sleep, oh yeah, and I changed the graphics card too, it simply won’t do it. So this is it. Its wife personal rig upgrade time, and I am cutting Asus out of the equation. Guys, you’ve...

EVERY INCH of Angkor Wat has a SECRET

Hey guys, today we are going to take another look at Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia. We always hear that Angkor Wat is the largest temple in the world, but the real mystery is not that it is the biggest, the real mystery is that also has the smallest carvings in the world. For example, if you look at this pillar, you see that there are carvings which completely cover the entire pillar, but you cannot understand them unless you take a closer look. Because these carvings are very tiny. And here are carvings of various animals, but look at the details of these carvings, they are so small. For example look at this deer you can even see its eyes, and its mouth opening, this is only a millimeter long. You can see that the entire column is full of these strange little carvings. It must have been quite a task to carve such micro carvings all over this column. But are these tiny carvings found only on this one column? I start examining the columns one by one, and it is interesting, because each ...
